What the Mind Believes the Body will Achieve

My previous post was a bit the little bit of modelling I did a few weeks back, and doing it made me  re-evaluate myself and my lifestyle a little bit.

So for me it's time to say hello to squats, sit ups, more gym time, taking the stairs instead of the lift (even if I am on the 7th floor) and better healthy eating. The words 'fat', 'curvy' or 'chubby' will no longer be associated with me!

Earlier I happened to stumble upon a Twitter account called: Be Fit Motivation. So I thought I'd just share some tips, guides and just plain hot bodies that are really, motivation enough to achieve my own!

Work hard, work smart and you will succeed!

I hope these have given you as much motivation as they have me!

The Bridal Room

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to model tiara's/veil's/shrugs for 'The Bridal Gown' in Otley. The pictures above are just a few snaps from the day. I felt like quite the celebrity having my hair and make up done professionals. Something I'm sure I could get used to!

The tiara's worn are by Halo & Co. and they have some absolutely beautiful designs!

One thing I really loved, was my hair. It was very 40s inspired with the top rolls. However, I don't think I would ever have a hairstyle as dramatic for my own wedding hair, if I ever become lucky enough to get the chance to get married anyway (to somebody I am absolutely in love with of course).
On the day the great and funny hair stylist AC from 'Yazzi's No.1 Hair Studio' taught me that tiara's can be used in so many unusual and amazing ways! Which you can see just by looking at these pictures, especially the way the feather like tiara has been used. He was such a lovely, talented and creative man!

But before I did the shoot in the church, there was a wedding fayre showcasing some of the dresses in the Bridal Gown store and below are the girls and their dresses!

It really was such a fun (and absolutely freesing) day and something I'd definitely do it again whether it be bridal or any other type of modelling!

Champagne Lifestyle, Lemonade Budget...

I'm sure most of us have come across, probably the biggest problem of the 21st century, wanting a 'Champagne Lifestyle, with a Lemonade Budget'. Well I am the biggest sinner of this. I lust over everything from Alexander McQueen to Balmain to Roberto Cavalli, hoping and wishing that one day my closet will be full of these (plus many more) amazing designers.

I just can't help myself, high street copies just do not compare to the big leagues in the fashion industry, I want to surround my self with the beauty and quality of all these designer brands.
So I find myself planning out a C.V. and cover letter to start the journey to be surrounded by what I desire.

Flannels. This is the starting point. Flannels is the UK's largest independent luxury retail group, specializing in contemporary Mens and Womenswear designer fashion, footwear and accessories.

I was browsing through the Flannels website, noticing the clothes and designers they choose to sell on their website and in their stores are so chic and classy it is hard to not love everything. Above are just a few pieces I instantly loved. The Prada handbag is just amazing! It is so elegant, and the embellishment adds a fun twist to the usual simple styles Prada go for.

ELIN KLING FOR MARCIANO Jacquard Chevron Jacket £280
ROLAND MOURET Iris Print Yama Pencil Skirt £550
PRADA Saffiano Vernice Crystal Pyramid Bag - £2550
BY MALENE BIRGER Silk Block Colour Swarovski Tank - £255
HELMUT LANG Leather Detail Asymmetric Dress - £715
McQ ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Leather Stud Heel Point Court£270
ROBERTO CAVALLI Wedgewood Print Jacket - £1650
TRUE RELIGION Casey Stretch Leather Jean - £750

So fingers crossed when I hand my C.V in they want me just as much as I want them!

If walls could talk what would they say? They have seen so many faces...

Now I know I'm only young and as friends have told me 'young, wild and free' at University. University where there seems to be this obscene sex culture; going out getting smashed and having one night stands with people they can't even remember the name of, probably in some dirty (mixed) club toilet (yes, mixed toilets, probably the worst idea any club owner has ever had, it just calls for trouble and absolute GRIM occurrences).

Now don't get me wrong I'm not insulting 90% of the university population, because I too thought "yes, University, I'm going to be a top slut and pull a number of absolute beauties!" I quickly changed my mind when I found out 'absolute beauties' are in short supply, or they're just midgets (fucking annoying when you're tall as it is but love wearing crazily high heels). Even my Manager at work said he was disappointed in how little of an actual 'slut' I've been. Apparently I'm not doing Uni 'properly'. I should be bed hopping absolute mingers, who cares if they're a 4/10 (with beer goggles) it's UNIIII! (and when a boy says he wants to go for 'cuddles' just don't be naive enough to believe any boy just wants to 'cuddle'). It's what's supposed to happen and is what does happen. But I just physically cannot bring myself to do it.

It's not hard for me to avoid it though, I never get chatted up when I'm out anyway (and before you think it no, I am not in anyway shape or form a 'minger' haha), which is annoying when you feel 'forever alone' and all you want is a cute, loving boyfriend. HAHA the irony of saying this, when you've just been bitching to your best friend how men are just absolute twats.
 see, not a minger ;)
But yes, even being at University, I've found myself thinking the unthinkable, I want a Boyfriend. Even resorted to a bit of PoF (Plenty of Fish, for those of you who wouldn't dream of going on a dating website). But I don't take it seriously, I never look for people or even message anyone, pointless I know.
I'm just so damn picky, terrible downfall of mine! That's probably why I don't get approached when I'm out, I just get creatures feeling my arse as I walk by, or shouting stupid comments at me. Yes I know I'm beautiful, too beautiful for your ugly mug mate. (I swear I'm not big headed!)

Where are all the nice boys hiding?
Although I did meet a potential when I was on holiday, you could maybe even say 'love at first sight'. Shame he lives a 5 hour coach journey away (Fml).

But like I've been told, I'm still only young and have my whole life ahead of me to find someone worth spending time with. I certainly won't be kissing any frogs in the meantime though!

First days of Spring...

Seeing as SS13 is being thrusted upon us in all fashion magazines, websites and blogs, I thought I'd check out whats in store for the season ahead and write about the styles I look forward to seeing and wearing the most.

The first trend is: CROPPED TROUSERS
These absolute beauties are Alexander McQueen.
There are two main reasons why I love this trend. The first is that as I have quite long legs and only tend to wear skinny jeans, sometimes it can be hard finding ones that are long enough to actually reach past my ankles, so with this trend I can get away with wearing shorter jeans and trousers!
The second is that I have a sugar skull tattoo on the bottom of my right leg and I love any chance I can get to show it off, so with this trend I can do that fashionably!

The second trend is: MONOCHROME
Monochrome madness by BALMAIN
I absolutely love everything by Balmain and I definitely think it's one of the cooler/edgier fashion brands around. I also have a big love for monochrome, it can be styled so many different ways and can be accessible by anyone no matter what their personal style.

The third trend is: NEON
Forget pretty pastels and get some big brights like MATTHEW WILLIAMSON
Now I know what you're thinking, NEON?! But as long as you steer clear of fluorescent Lycra and leg warmers it can make a gorgeous, classy impact, especially against the next trend (White). So start dreaming of summer sunshine with; hot pinks, cobalt blues and grass greens!

The fourth and final trend: WHITE
MISSONI's white beginnings
When it comes to fashion and the colour of clothes, I prefer simple. My favourite colours being Black and White. White appropriately symbolizes summer, so it's no surprise to see the likes of Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci and Topshop fill their catwalks with the beautiful and pure colour and like Missoni, adding some bright red lips to enhance the style. Not to mention how beautifully bronzed it can make you look if you have even the slightest tan!

I think the best thing about all these trends I've pulled out, if paired correctly they can all
look fabulous together!

For this blog, I think I'm just going to take each day as it comes and hopefully my futures going to be interesting enough to talk about!
So expect: fashion, boys, partying, shopping, friends, more boys (preferably playing rugby), university, music, maybe even a few 'outfit of the day' posts (if I'm looking good enough anyway) and anything else I think the rest of the world desperately need to read! (Or my 1 follower Hannah anyway, check out her blog!)

The first thing I can probably blog about is some bridal modelling I've been asked to do! I'm going for a fitting tomorrow morning with my good friend Daisy so they can find a dress for us to wear.
Obviously modelling would be an amazing career to have but I've never even considered it, mostly because there is no way on this earth, that I could ever be a 'size zero', I love food way too much!
But I have actually started going to the gym for the first time in my life, and strangely I really enjoy it!
So who knows, this bit of fun in a wedding dress could turn into something a little bit more...

I'll upload some photos tomorrow :)

Hello and Happy New Year!

One of my New Years resolutions was to start a blog, so here I am! (Hopefully I can stay on top of it though!)
I'm not usually one to make New Year resolutions, mostly just because I can never really think of a decent one! But I've actually got a few this year; get myself out there more, make new friends, kick start my future (Work hard - Play hard!) and probably the most common resolution on this planet - lose weight! Operation worldy 2013 is in action!
But to move forward to 2013 I've got to say goodbye to 2012!
2012 was probably one of the best years of my life so far. I've met some of the best friends I've ever had, got into the University I'd only dreamed of since since about the age of 10, hung around with celebrities and some beautiful rugby players, went on holiday abroad with my mum for the first time, which also happened to prove to me, love at first sight does actually exist (yep, even on the grimey streets of Malia!)
So yes, 2012 was filled with some unforgettable memories (pictures above to just show a few!), but to match there were some sad and lonely parts to my year. But they're in the past and I have so much to look forward to in the coming year where I can't wait to make new unforgettable memories...
So here's to 2013!!
